We love our beer, don't we Wisconsin? We have a long-standing reputation as a beer powerhouse in the United States. Milwaukee was once home to four of the world’s largest breweries—Miller, Pabst, Schlitz, and Blatz—earning it the nickname “Brew City.” Wisconsin consistently ranks among the top states for beer consumption per capita, with residents drinking around 30 gallons of beer annually on average. The state boasts more than 200 craft breweries, reflecting its deep cultural and economic ties to beer production. With its rich brewing history, high consumption rates, and vibrant craft scene, Wisconsin makes a strong case as the best beer state in America. Below you will find a curated list of our favorite breweries in our city and our state. These are hand selected, much like the hops of these beautiful brews. Do you agree? Have any to add? Let us know!
